  • Overview

    The Packaging Engineer supports the packaging department and organization with activities including but not limited to packaging materials selection, Component Specifications, Serialization, Bar Code Labeling, Tech Transfer and Product Development project timelines and customer interaction within requirements of cGMP and company SOP environment.




    Responsibilities

    • Interact and communicate with clients during project meetings, active with identification of material container & closure systems.
    • Ability to effectively write, review and revise packaging component specifications via formal change control process. 
    • Support Site Serialization Project Plan with development of package unit level and case labeling via Bar Tender label software
    • Must be able to work with material and service suppliers and provide updates to customers during material evaluation and selection process. 
    • Supports Halo packaging operations with material and equipment trial, test, and qualification opportunities. 
    • Work closely with purchasing to identify and procure packaging materials as project related. 
    • Work closely with testing laboratory operations for testing and release of primary packaging materials. 
    • Create strong presence on packaging floor to support and assist department management, mechanics, engineering, Validation, and QA during packaging and equipment and/or material qualifications. 
    • Work closely with Label Control to ensure compliance to site and market regulations and requirements. 
    • Focus on project management and related activities to clearly understand project deliverables and to properly support multiple active customer projects and requirements. 
    • Other duties as assigned.

     


























    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of cGMP Environment
    • Strong communication and technical writing
    • Able to be effective and achieve results in fast paced, customer service, deadline driven, multi project environment
    • Must be able to remain sedentary for periods of time and move about the facility at times

     

    EDUCATION:     

    • Degree in Packaging Engineering or Similar preferred

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 1-2 years working in a pharmaceutical environment
    • Pharmaceutical Packaging Experience, preferably in contract services area
